Season of the Deep is the 21st Season in Destiny 2. It takes place from May 23 to August 22, 2023.[1]

Introduction

Titan’s ocean floor is teeming with Taken and Hive searching for something at the bottom of its methane ocean. Guardians must follow them into the deep to uncover ancient secrets and learn more about the Witness’s origins.[1]

A new quest, Parting the Veil, can be obtained from Nimbus after completing the Unfinished Business Exotic quest. Completing it rewards the Epochal Integration Hand Cannon and unlocks a new Aspect for the player's Strand subclass: Flechette Storm for Titans, Threaded Specter for Hunters, and The Wanderer for Warlocks. It also grants access to the Veil Containment area on Neomuna, which contains audio logs that unlock with each week of the Season.

The Last Wish raid's weapons can now be crafted. Suraya Hawthorne has a weekly quest that requires clearing each of the raid's encounters. Once completed, players can purchase a previously acquired Last Wish weapon with Deepsight Resonance from Hawthorne for Spoils of Conquest. Additionally, for all Exotic raid weapon drops, completing certain Triumphs from those raids will now boost the chance of those weapons dropping.

A new item, the Deepsight Harmonizer, has been added, which can activate Deepsight on weapons with Patterns to be earned. Currently, Harmonizers can only be obtained as Season Pass rewards: three from the free track, and three from the paid track.

Master Rahool now has Exotic armor focusing options. Exotic Engrams will no longer auto-decrypt if they are obtained from the Season Pass reward tracks, vendor reputation resets, or world drops. The Vanguard Ops, Crucible, and Gambit weekly challenges now give Powerful focusable Exotic Engrams instead of +1 Pinnacle Legendary rewards. Focusable Exotic Engrams can either be decrypted at Rahool for free, or focused into previously acquired Exotic armor at a higher cost. Exotic Engrams obtained from Lost Sectors and other sources will still automatically decrypt.

Supremacy has been added to the Relentless Crucible rotator. Various aspects of Trials of Osiris have been reworked, including changing the game mode from Elimination to Dominion.

A catalyst for Malfeasance has been added. It can drop from strikes, Crucible, and Gambit.

Finest Matterweaves and Rainmakers are deprecated and will no longer drop. Whenever they would have dropped, 1 Enhancement Core and 3,000 Glimmer, respectively, will drop instead. Leftover copies in players' inventories can be dismantled to earn the same rewards.

Archangel[2], the robotic dog from the Season of the Seraph Exotic mission, Operation: Seraph's Shield, has been moved to a new home in the Tower Annex. Players can pet the dog in the hall outside Ada-1's room.
