Season of Plunder
Season of Plunder is the 18th Season in Destiny 2. It takes place from August 23, 2022, to December 6, 2022.[1]
Introduction
Sail by Starlight
Eramis, awoken from her icy prison by a Dark benefactor, has rallied old pirate lords of Eliksni legend to assist her in recovering lost relics of great power... unless you plunder them first. There is no horizon to reach, no edge to your map, but there most certainly is treasure. Assemble your crew, Guardian.[1]

The Arc 3.0 update arrives, updating the Arc subclasses (Striker, Arcstrider, and Stormcaller) to use the Aspects and Fragments system used by the other subclasses.
To help new and returning players catch up, the Gift of the Thunder Gods has been added. This chest, found in the H.E.L.M., rewards two Exotic items, five Legendary weapons, and a set of Legendary armor, allowing players to boost their Power Level to 1540. These rewards can be claimed once per character (with different armor items depending on class), and are free for all players. The Gift of the Thunder Gods will be available until the end of the Season.[2]
Destiny 2 launches on the Epic Games Store. To celebrate, three Fortnite-themed Universal Ornament armor sets have been added to the game, available for purchase through Eververse. Destiny cosmetics have also been added to Fortnite and Fall Guys through a collaboration.[2]
Players who downloaded Destiny 2 on the Epic Games Store before August 30, 2022, got the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack for free. Additionally, the Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen campaigns and their associated content were temporarily free-to-play for all players on all platforms until August 30, 2022, with any gear that was obtained being free to keep.[2][3]
Dares of Eternity weapons have had their perk pools updated, and can now be crafted. A new Origin Trait has been added.
