Captain's Atlas is a quest item from the Season of Plunder.

Overview

The Captain's Atlas is obtained along with the Sails of the Shipstealer quest from the Star Chart in the H.E.L.M., after completing the Ahoy and Aweigh quest. The item is stored in the player's Quests inventory.

Treasure Map

Restore Treasure Maps to find buried treasures in Expedition missions.

A Treasure Map can be restored by combining Map Fragments with Treasure Coordinates. Choosing a Treasure Map to restore will immediately consume the materials and socket the map into the Atlas. Swapping to a different map will consume more materials, so players should choose wisely before restoring a map. With a restored Treasure Map, the player can dig up a treasure chest at the end of an Expedition mission. The rewards depend on the Treasure Map used. Digging up treasure will consume the Treasure Map, removing it from the socket.

Some maps require Pirate Crew upgrades to obtain. They can be unlocked with Repute at the Star Chart vendor in the H.E.L.M. The Precise Cartography upgrade will increase the Plundered Umbral Energy rewarded from all maps by 1.

First Mate

Promote one of your crewmates to gain their First Mate buffs.

Players can summon hired crewmates during Ketchcrash and Expedition missions by unlocking their associated upgrade at the Star Chart in the H.E.L.M. using Repute. If the player unlocks a crewmate's First Mate upgrade, then they can choose that crewmate as a First Mate using the Captain's Atlas. This has no cost, and will grant the player improved buffs while the crewmate is in combat. Only one crewmate can be selected as First Mate at a time, and this selection cannot be changed during Ketchcrash or Expedition. The improved buffs only apply to players who have that crewmate selected as their First Mate.

Secret Compartment

An ornate compartment hidden within the Captain's Atlas.

During the Cryptic Quatrains III quest, a secret compartment in the Captain's Atlas is revealed after restoring the Crude Cipher treasure map. The compartment has three sockets, where Eliksni Sigils can be placed. There are three sigils that can be inserted into the sockets:

House of Salvation
An ornate sigil representing an Eliksni faction.
House of Light
An ornate sigil representing an Eliksni faction.
House of Dusk
An ornate sigil representing an Eliksni faction.

Based on the clues given in the quest step description, the player must insert the sigils into the compartment's sockets in a specific order. If done correctly, the compartment will disappear, progressing the quest.
