Expedition
Repel roving pirate crews to excavate long-buried treasures!
Expedition is a Seasonal Arena activity introduced during the Season of Plunder.

Overview
Expedition is a 3-player matchmade playlist, where players will dig up treasure while fighting off waves of enemies. There are three Expedition missions, which were introduced weekly as the Sails of the Shipstealer quest progressed: Europa was available in the first week of the Season, Cosmodrome was added in the second week, and Nessus was added in the third week. Missions can only be played through the Expedition Playlist, where they are randomly chosen. They are not available to launch individually on their respective destination's map in the Director.
In an Expedition mission, players will begin by activating a drill (similar to the one from the Glimmer Extraction public event). The drill will occasionally dig up treasure in the form of engrams, which will disappear after a short time. The team must pick up the engrams and throw them at the treasure haul device nearby before they vanish. When enough treasure is collected (with progress indicated next to the objective on the left side of the screen), the drilling will end.
Enemies will attack the players throughout this process. The drill may be interrupted by a jamming device, which will spawn somewhere in the sector. It will be protected by a barrier, which can be disabled by killing the nearby enemies. After the jammer is destroyed, players will need to return to the drill site.
When drilling has finished at the starting location, the treasure haul must be escorted to a second location. Players must stand next to the payload device until it reaches its next destination. After the second drill, the haul must be escorted to the final location, where a group of enemies will appear, along with a boss. Defeating all enemies will complete the mission.
Champion enemies will also appear in this activity. During the drilling phase, Ruffians (Unstoppable Incendiors) will randomly appear and attempt to steal some treasure. While escorting the treasure haul, a Saboteur (an Overload Captain) may show up, preventing the payload from moving until it is defeated. Drifter, Mithrax, or Eido will usually say something when a Champion enemy appears.

Rewards
A treasure chest at the end of each mission rewards Glimmer and gear. Completing missions will also reward Savvy reputation, which increases rank with the Star Chart vendor in the H.E.L.M.
Treasure Maps
- See also: Captain's Atlas
If the player has restored a Treasure Map using the Captain's Atlas, they can dig up an additional treasure chest from one of the mounds marked with Eliksni symbols. The rewards vary depending on the Treasure Map used, but will always include Plundered Umbral Energy. Treasure Maps require Map Fragments (obtained from Ketchcrash) and Treasure Coordinates (obtained from various activities). If the player entered the mission without restoring a Treasure Map, they can do so at any point before they are forced to leave the activity. Digging up the chest will consume the Treasure Map.

Patch History
- 6.3.0.5[1]
- Year-5 Seasonal ritual activities now count toward ritual progress of all Season Pass Exotic catalyst quests.
- 6.2.5.4[2]
- Dialogs in Ketchcrash and Expedition will now respect a character's progress through the Seasonal narrative and play contextually appropriate lines.
- 6.2.5[3]
- Ruffians will no longer despawn when drill phases end. Additionally, their spawn rate has increased by 7%.
- 6.2.0.2[4]
- Fixed an issue where the treasure object could be duplicated. This was contributing to inflation across the intergalactic economy, and we can't have that.
