Subclasses
Each class has a Void subclass, with abilities that deal Void damage:
- Titan — Sentinel;
- Hunter — Nightstalker;
- Warlock — Voidwalker.
Aspects

Aspects are items that modify a subclass, adding new abilities or modifying existing ones. Each class has their own unique set of Aspects for each of their subclasses.
A subclass can equip up to two Aspects at a time. Equipping an Aspect unlocks a certain number of slots for equipping that subclass's Fragments.
Fragments

Fragments are items that can be equipped to a subclass to provide passive bonuses to that subclass. Equipping a Fragment may also grant Stat Increases, or inflict Stat Penalties. Fragments are not tied to specific classes, and are available to obtain for all subclasses of a given element type.
Weapons
Energy and Power Weapons can deal Void damage.
Energy weapons deal less damage than Kinetic against unshielded enemies, but deal more damage to the elemental shields, and even more if the weapon's element matches the shield's. Destroying a Void shield with Void weapon or ability causes an explosion that damages enemies in a certain radius near the target.
Armor
Character armor has elemental types that determine which Mods can be installed into it.
Void mods can be installed only into Void armor. They mostly revolve around Grenade Launchers, Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles, Sidearms and Sniper Rifles, and provide resistance to Void damage.
Enemies
Some of the enemies are surrounded by elemental shields which soak a certain amount of incoming damage. Enemies can also deal elemental damage.
Void shields are used by:
- Vex — Minotaurs;
- Taken — Taken Wizards.
Void weapons are used by:
- Fallen —
- Hive —
- Cabal —
- Vex —
- Taken —
- Scorn —
Although there are occurrences where these enemies have different shields, and it is possible for them to wield different weapons.
Singe
Elemental singe is a heroic modifier that is changed weekly. During Void singe, both players and enemies deal more damage with Void weapons and abilities, and the players can complete one of the Vanguard Challenges by completing strikes in Void subclasses.

Overshield
You are armored in a protective barrier of Void Light. Reduces damage taken from combatants.
Invisibility
You vanish from sight and do not appear on radar. While invisible, your radar range is reduced. Performing offensive actions will end invisibility.
Devour
Feast on the energy of your defeated foes. Final blows restore you to full health, grant grenade energy, and extend Devour.
Void Breach
A dimensional rupture teeming with Void energy. When picked up, Void Breaches grant class ability energy.
Volatile
The target is afflicted with unstable Void energy and will explode upon taking additional damage.
Volatile Rounds from your Void weapons pierce the shields of Barrier Champions and stun them.
Weaken
The target takes increased damage and has their movement speed slowed. Afflicted combatants have difficulty firing accurately.
Suppression
The target is taken out of any active abilities and cannot activate any abilities or movement modes while suppression persists. Afflicted combatants cannot fire their weapons.
When suppressed, Overload Champions are stunned.
