Acquisition
- Rewarded when using a Treasure Map socketed into the Captain's Atlas to dig up a treasure chest at the end of an Expedition activity.
- 3 are rewarded for reaching Rank 16 with the Star Chart after resetting at least once.
Upgrades

Repute) can affect the acquisition of Plundered Umbral Energy:
Double Plundered Umbral Energy Map: Unlocks the Double Plundered Umbral Energy Treasure Map in the Captain's Atlas.
Plunder Windfall: Occasionally earn Plundered Umbral Energy by completing strikes, Crucible, Gambit, and other activities.
Precise Cartography: Increases Plundered Umbral Energy found using Treasure Maps.- Rumored Treasure Map: Once a week, you can use a Treasure Map your crewmates heard rumors about.
Usage
Plundered Umbral Energy is used to focus Umbral Engrams into seasonal weapons and armor at the Star Chart in the H.E.L.M.
Upgrades
The following Pirate Crew upgrades (unlocked at the Star Chart with Repute) can affect the usage of Plundered Umbral Energy:
- Bargain Armor Spoils: The first time you decrypt an Umbral Engram into Season of Plunder armor each week, it does not consume Plundered Umbral Energy.
