Overview

Introduction

Exotic Engrams can contain Exotic Weapons or pieces of Exotic Armor according to the following rules:

Decryption Algorithm

• Standard Base Attack/Defense Range: 200-MAX
  • Applies to looted Exotic Engrams (Quest Reward Exotics abide by different rules)
• Required Level: (Base Attack/Defense - 40)/10, rounded to the nearest whole number
  • Capped at Level 20 up to 300 base Attack/Defense
  • Above 300 base Attack/Defense, a different Required Level formula is used: 21 + round((Base Attack/Defense - 300)/10)
• (Highest Base Power Level + 5) if below 260? Power
• (Highest Base Power Level) if above 260? Power

How to Acquire

• Completion of any Patrol mission
• Completion of any Strike
• Completion of any Adventure
• Completion of any Public Event
• Completion of a Raid or Raid Lair
• Completion of a Crucible match
