Public Events
Public Events are PvE activities that occur in patrol zones.
Overview
Public events take place in public sectors, where other players can normally be encountered. Events will cycle through a destination's public sectors in a random order. Several minutes before an event occurs, an icon on a destination's map in the Director will mark the sector where the event will take place. In the sector itself, an orange Rally Banner will appear. Interacting with it will give the player full ability energy, as well as full ammo, to prepare for the event. When the event starts, players who rallied at the banner and are still in the sector will automatically join the event. Others can join the event by going near the event area, or shooting enemies spawned by the event.
Public events require players to complete an objective, which varies depending on the event. Successful completion spawns a reward chest. Complete certain hidden objectives will make the event Heroic, causing it to become somewhat more difficult but granting better rewards.
Secret Public Events are not tracked on the map, are smaller in scale and do not have Heroic versions.
