Xûr is the Purveyor of Strange Goods. He is the vendor for the Dares of Eternity game mode, part of the Bungie 30th Anniversary Event. In Dares of Eternity, he acts as a translator for the host, the Starhorse. He offers quests and bounties related to Dares of Eternity and the event, as well as various cosmetic items that can be unlocked by accomplishing triumphs or by purchasing the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack.

A progression rank that goes up as you complete matches in the Dares of Eternity. Consecutive completions help you move up faster, and there are no loss penalties.

Your rank can be reset up to 5 more times.

Players can gain Strange Favor reputation with Xûr by completing Dares of Eternity matches, or by completing bounties from Xûr and Starhorse. Playing Dares on Legend difficulty will reward more reputation. Completing matches will also add to the player's Dares of Eternity activity streak, granting increased reputation rewards with each match, up to a maximum streak of 5. Completing Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit activities will reduce the player's Dares streak while adding to those activities' streaks. Players can only have a total of 5 streak progress across all four activity types, rebalancing depending on the activities completed.

Xûr and Starhorse daily bounties reward 25 Strange Favor each. Rare and Legendary Starhorse weekly bounties reward 50 and 150 each, respectively.

Players will stop gaining reputation points after completing rank 16. Strange Favor can be reset after rank 16 is completed, allowing more reputation to be gained. Rank can be reset with Xûr up to 5 times.
