Oryx, the Taken King (born Aurash) is the most powerful of the three Hive gods and the master of the Taken. Alongside his sisters Savathûn and Xivu Arath, he founded the Hive and bound the species to the Sword Logic.

Biography
Oryx was born Aurash, one of three Krill siblings on the gas giant Fundament. To save their dying world, the siblings made a pact with the Worm Gods, trading their mortal forms for immortality and power and becoming the first Hive. Aurash took the male King morph, becoming Auryx and ultimately Oryx.
To grow stronger, Oryx ventured into the depths of the universe and slew Akka, the Worm of Secrets, tearing from it the power to Take — to rip a being into the Darkness and return it as an enslaved servant. He recorded this knowledge on the Tablets of Ruin and built his great warship, the Dreadnaught, from Akka's remains.
When his son Crota was slain by Guardians during the battle on the Moon, Oryx brought his Dreadnaught into the Sol System to take vengeance, unleashing the Taken across its worlds.
King's Fall
Guardians boarded the Dreadnaught and pursued Oryx into his Throne World, where they defeated him for good in the King's Fall raid. His death left the Hive of the Sol System without their god-king.
