Hydra is a Vex enemy. They are floating Vex heavy units that act as major processing nodes.

Overview
A Hydra hovers behind a rotating shield that blocks all damage from whichever side it faces, forcing Guardians to flank it or break through. Many of the most powerful Vex Minds are Hydras.
Combat
It fires a Void Aeon Maul and releases a Solar Death Blast when destroyed.
Strategy
Move to the open side of the rotating shield, or pierce it with shield-piercing rounds or a Sword, then hit the core.
