Information
Name Abomination

Abominations are large, tank-class Scorn units in Destiny 2. They are the tragic result of excessive Dark Ether resurrections, transforming former Dregs into massive, mindless creatures of pure aggression.

Description

Abominations are grotesquely mutated Scorn with grossly enlarged bodies and disproportionally small heads capped with metal plates. They bear a disturbing resemblance to Hive Ogres, both in gameplay mechanics and as distinct mutant entities within their respective species. These lumbering walls of muscle serve as heavy assault units for Scorn forces.

Physical Characteristics

  • Entirely headless with a large metal cap affixed to the neck stump
  • Massively enlarged muscular bodies
  • Two functional arms with stumps below (remnants of their Dreg origins)
  • Lack the four arms found on other Scorn like Raiders and Chieftains
  • Move slowly due to their massive size

Combat Behavior

Ranged Attacks

  • Cast bolts of Arc Ether from their hands
  • Alternate attacks between hands at a steady pace
  • Capable of inflicting high damage from surprisingly long ranges
  • Effective at breaking Guardian shields

Melee Attacks

  • Devastating Arc ground slam when enemies approach
  • Creates a shockwave that knocks back nearby targets
  • Deals massive damage to anyone caught in the blast radius
  • Charges up the attack with visible Arc energy

Origin

Abominations are the result of excessive Dark Ether resurrections. When a Scorn has been revived too many times, they have an equal chance of becoming either a Screeb or an Abomination. The repeated resurrections take a severe physical and psychological toll, leaving them as distorted, mindless shells of their former selves.

Tactical Considerations

  • Maintain distance to avoid ground slam attacks
  • Use cover to break line of sight from Arc blasts
  • Focus fire due to their high health pools
  • Prioritize them as they can control areas with their attacks

Variants

Trivia

  • First encountered during the Forsaken campaign
  • Share similar combat roles to Hive Ogres
  • Their headless state represents the extreme toll of Dark Ether corruption
  • Despite missing heads, they remain functional through Dark Ether animation
