Guardian Games 2024

Guardian Games 2024, also known as Guardian Games All-Stars, is the Guardian Games Live Event for Year 7, taking place during Year 6's Season of the Wish, which was extended due to the delay of The Final Shape expansion. It lasted from March 5 to March 26, 2024.[1]

Overview

Eva Levante is the event vendor. She can be found across from the landing zone in the Tower. She will give players the Best in Class introductory quest and a Guardian Games Class Item that will allow them to earn Medallions while wearing it. Wearing any Guardian Games Class Item as an Armor Ornament (created through Armor Synthesis) will also allow the player to earn Medallions. Completing the quest will give players the Medallion Case, which shows the amount of each type of Medallion held by the player.

Contender Cards and Platinum Cards are bounties that can be purchased from Eva using Glimmer1.png Glimmer. Only one PvE Contender or Platinum Card can be held at a time, and only one PvP/Gambit Contender or Platinum Card can be held at a time. Completing Cards will reward Medallions, as well as progress for the player's class in the daily Guardian Games competition. Medallions will also drop when completing activities.

This event also adds PvE and PvP Diamond Cards, which reward Diamond Medallions that grant the most Medallion score. Only one of each type of Diamond Card can be completed per week, per account. Additionally, each week, players can earn a Diamond Medallion as a Twitch Drop by watching streams in the Destiny 2 category for a total of two hours.[1] The Medallion can be claimed in-game from Eva. The player's Bungie and Twitch accounts must be linked in order to claim the Medallion

A new Memento, the Games Memento icon.jpg Games Memento, can be earned as a random drop when depositing Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallions. Only one can be held in the player's inventory at a time, but Eva will hold onto any additional copies that drop until the end of the event.

There are four activities available during the event, which can be accessed from the Tower map in the Director:

  • Guardian Games: Recreational Playlist functions like the Vanguard Ops playlist, with randomly chosen strikes;
  • Guardian Games: Competitive Playlist functions like a Hero-difficulty Nightfall, with a different strike available each day;
  • The Supremacy Crucible game mode has returned with an option to match with players of the same class;
  • Gambit has been replaced with Gambit: Class vs. Class, where players of the same class are put on teams together.

Due to errors, class-based matchmaking in Crucible and Gambit was disabled on March 8 for the remainder of the event.[2]

The strike playlists have Vanguard Medals that can be earned by performing specific actions (e.g. getting a streak of kills with a specific weapon/element type). Medals give additional points, increasing the score earned when the activity is completed.

Medallions are earned from completing Cards and activities. They can be deposited into the podium in the Tower to earn various rewards, including three exclusive Legendary weapons: The title icon1.jpg The Title Submachine Gun, the Taraxippos icon1.jpg Taraxippos Scout Rifle, and the Hullabaloo icon1.jpg Hullabaloo Grenade Launcher.

This event introduces a new type of vehicle to the game: Skimmers are hoverboard-like vehicles that are equipped in the same slot as Sparrows. Players can acquire the Allstar vector icon1.jpg Allstar Vector Skimmer from Eva, along with the Drop In quest. This Skimmer will be removed from the player's inventory when the event ends, but completing the quest will allow them to keep it permanently.

There are two additional quests, Shoot to Score from Commander Zavala and Vying for Supremacy from Lord Shaxx, that allow players to light the torch platforms behind the podium. The player must reach specific score tiers (from Bronze to Platinum) in each quest's respective activity. Lighting the torches can give various rewards, including fully Masterworked drops of the event weapons with multiple Traits in each column, as well as a glow effect on the player's Class Item. These quests and torches reset at the start of each week of the event.

The Top of Class and Competitive Catalyst quests also return, allowing players to obtain the Heir apparent icon1.jpg Heir Apparent Exotic Machine Gun and its catalyst.

Event Card

The Event Card can be accessed from the Quests tab in the Director next to the Seasonal Challenges. It can also be found on Eva Levante's vendor screen, or through the Tower icon on the Destinations map in the Director.
