The Gunsmith Faction rewards the player for dismantling Weapons and Armor and turning in the resulting parts. Handing in Gunsmith Materials and Weapon Telemetry (randomly generated by elemental weapon kills while a Ghost Shell with an Analyzer Ghost Module is equipped) to Arcite 99-40 in The Farm (before completion of The Red War) or Banshee-44 in The Tower (after completion of The Red War) is currently the only way to increase standing with this faction. Each rank-up will award the player a Gunsmith Engram that often contains base primary Foundry weapons as well as Foundry Shaders and Weapon and Armor Mods.

Faction Engram Contents

Note that while the in-game help text indicates that the contents of the Gunsmith Engram are limited to Foundry Weapons, this is not the case. Any Legendary weapon that is not exclusive to Vanguard Tactician Engrams, Crucible Engrams, Trials Engrams, Imperial Engrams, engrams for Faction Rally factions, engrams related to other Live Events, or the activities through which these engrams are earned, can be awarded from a Gunsmith Engram.
