Stability

Stability is a measurement of the recoil experienced when firing a weapon. Higher Stability values produce lower recoil, meaning the weapon kicks upward less with each shot and settles back onto target more quickly.

What Stability Does

  • Recoil reduction: Stability lowers the magnitude of a weapon's recoil — how far the gun hops after each trigger pull. It does not change the recoil pattern (the left/right drift), which is governed by Recoil Direction.
  • Flinch resistance: Stability also grants resistance to flinch, the camera shake caused by taking incoming fire. The amount varies by weapon archetype.
  • Aim assist retention: While firing continuously, a weapon's aim assist cone shrinks toward a floor. Higher Stability slows the rate at which the cone shrinks, helping shots stay on target during sustained fire (see Aim Assistance).

Mouse users have a recoil scalar which provides roughly 20% less recoil than controller players.

What Affects Stability

Stability can be raised with a Stability Masterwork, barrels and grips such as Polygonal Rifling, Corkscrew Rifling, and Smallbore, magazines such as Flared Magwell, and perks such as Zen Moment and Tap the Trigger.
