Lore Background
"A Hollow Coronation" continues the story of Queen Mara Sov's return to the Dreaming City during Season of the Lost. Following the events of the Forsaken campaign and the death of her brother Uldren Sov, Mara commissioned the creation of a powerful weapon intended as a gift for her brother. Named after Ager, one of the Awoken Techeuns who helped raise the twins, the weapon represents both Mara's regret over her relationship with her brother and her hopes for his future as Crow.[3]
The weapon was locked away in the Caliburn Gatehouse, a secure vault within the Dreaming City, protected by various security measures and codes scattered throughout the Sol System. The quest has players assist Mara in retrieving these codes and accessing the vault while contending with forces of Xivu Arath who seek the weapon for themselves.[4]

During this conversation, Mara explains that the Atlas Skews collected during the previous quests will help locate a weapon of significant power that was meant for her brother Uldren.[5]
2. A Hollow Coronation

- Confluence Tree Triad: From the central Confluence area, look for three trees growing in a triangular formation. The Atlas Skew is at the base of one of these trees.

- Super: 20
Walkthrough
This step requires players to defeat 18 Champion enemies within the Astral Alignment activity. Champions appear regularly throughout the activity, particularly during the final encounter. The fight features multiple phases and Kelgorath is immune to damage except when his shield is lowered.[16]
Ager's Scepter is particularly effective against Kelgorath, as its freezing capabilities can immobilize the boss and its minions. The fight takes place in multiple areas of the Gatehouse, requiring players to chase Kelgorath through the facility.

Catalyst Acquisition
Following the completion of "A Hollow Coronation," players can acquire the Ager's Scepter Catalyst by completing additional activities. The catalyst enhances the weapon's capabilities by adding the "Will Given Form" perk, which allows players to drain their Super energy to temporarily overcharge the weapon, increasing its damage output and causing enemies to violently explode when defeated.[18]
To acquire the catalyst:
- Complete Astral Alignment activities until the catalyst quest drops
- Collect Parallax Trajectory from various activities
- Defeat enemies with Ager's Scepter in the Shattered Realm
- Locate and open Ascendant Anchors within the Shattered Realm
Once acquired, the catalyst requires approximately 700 kills with Ager's Scepter to be fully unlocked.
Trivia

- The name "Ager" comes from one of the Techeuns who helped raise Mara and Uldren after their arrival in the Distributary.
- This is the first Stasis Trace Rifle introduced to Destiny 2.[19]
- The mission showcases more of the Dreaming City's hidden areas, particularly the Caliburn Gatehouse, which had not been accessible prior to this mission.
- The weapon's lore suggests that Queen Mara Sov had planned for the possibility of her brother's resurrection as a Guardian long before it actually occurred.
