Exo
Exos are a race of self-aware war machines in the Destiny universe, built by Clovis Bray during the Golden Age. They are one of the three races a Guardian can be, alongside Humans and the Awoken.

Overview
Each Exo houses a human mind transferred into a robotic body, and Exos keep human personalities and emotions. They can wield the Light and be revived by a Ghost like any other Guardian. An Exo's name ends in a number that counts how many times its memory has been reset. These reboots scramble older memories rather than erasing them cleanly, and too many resets can break an Exo's mind.
History
Clovis Bray developed the Exo process in the Deep Stone Crypt on Europa, drawing on paracausal experiments to stabilize the transferred minds. Many Exos share a recurring dream of a tower on a dark plain, an echo of the Crypt where they were made. The program's full history, and the identity of the Exo Stranger as Elisabeth "Elsie" Bray, was revealed in Beyond Light.
