Magazines and Batteries are weapon perks that appear in the second perk column of weapons in Destiny 2. These perks modify various aspects of a weapon's magazine, ammunition, and related stats.

Overview

Perk slot 2 is occupied by Arrows, Batteries, Guards, and Magazines. Magazine perks are weapon perks that provide stats and behavior related to a weapon's magazine. Generally, the stats provided are Magazine, Reload Speed, Range, and Stability.

Magazine Perks

For Bullet-Firing Weapons

• Accurized Rounds - This weapon can fire longer distances. Increases Range.
• Alloy Magazine - Faster Reload when the magazine is empty.
• Appended Mag - This weapon's magazine is built for higher capacity. Increases magazine size.
• Armor-Piercing Rounds - Rounds cause extra damage to shields and overpenetrate targets. Slightly increases Range.
• Drop Mag - Magazine drops on reload, wasting remaining ammo but greatly increasing reload speed.
• Extended Mag - This weapon has a greatly increased magazine size, but reloads much slower.
• Flared Magwell - Optimized for fast reloading. Greatly increases reload speed. Slightly increases Stability.
• High-Caliber Rounds - Shots from this weapon knock the target back farther. Slightly increases Range.
• Light Mag - This weapon has improved reload and range. Increases reload speed. Slightly increases Range.
• Ricochet Rounds - Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces. Increases Stability and Range.
• Steady Rounds - This magazine is optimized for recoil control. Greatly increases Stability. Slightly decreases Range.
• Tactical Mag - This weapon has multiple tactical improvements. Slightly increases Stability, Reload Speed, and Magazine Size.

For Explosive Weapons

• Alloy Casing - Reduces weight for faster reloads. Greatly increases Reload Speed. Decreases Stability.
• Black Powder - This weapon's explosives are more effective. Slightly increases Blast Radius and Reload Speed.
• High-Velocity Rounds - This weapon's projectiles are particularly light and quick. Increases projectile speed. Increases Reload Speed.
• Implosion Rounds - This weapon's projectiles travel faster and have a controlled explosion. Increases projectile speed. Greatly increases Stability. Decreases Blast Radius.
• Impact Casing - Increases stability and direct hit damage. Greatly increases Stability. Slightly increases Direct Hit Damage.

Special Magazine Perks

• Phase Magazine - Increases damage while lowering rate of fire. Decreases magazine size.
• Seraph Rounds - Rounds overpenetrate targets and bounce off hard surfaces. Only appears on IKELOS weapons, excluding the shotguns.
• Swap Mag - Swap weapons much faster for a short duration after emptying the magazine.

Battery Perks

While less common than magazine perks, battery perks function similarly for energy weapons. The exact mechanics and available battery perks vary by weapon type, but they generally affect similar stats to magazine perks including capacity, reload speed, and handling characteristics.
