Acquisition
Unlocked on tier 2 of the Hunter's Journal Seasonal Artifact during Episode: Echoes.
Usage
While this perk is unlocked, rounds loaded by the Cast No Shadows origin perk can overflow the magazine. This perk behaves similarly to Ambitious Assassin, allowing weapons to exceed their base magazine capacity.
Overflow Mechanics
- Melee damage triggers Cast No Shadows, which will overflow the magazine while this artifact perk is active
- Can overflow up to double your base magazine size, the same as the Overflow weapon perk
- The overflow effect applies to all weapons with the Cast No Shadows origin trait
Cast No Shadows Synergy
Cast No Shadows is an Origin Trait that appears on Saint-14's reissued weapons from Season of Dawn. The trait partially reloads the weapon's magazine from reserves as you deal melee damage. When combined with Saint's Inspiration, this reload can exceed the magazine's normal capacity.
Compatible Weapons
The following Season of Dawn weapons have been reissued with the Cast No Shadows origin trait:
- Breachlight - Sidearm
- Patron of Lost Causes - Scout Rifle
- Line in the Sand - Linear Fusion Rifle
- Martyr's Retribution - Wave Frame Grenade Launcher
- Perfect Paradox - Shotgun
Build Synergies
This perk is particularly effective with:
- Melee-focused builds that can consistently trigger Cast No Shadows
- Perfect Paradox with One-Two Punch, as the frequent melee hits will continuously overflow the magazine
- Titan builds utilizing Synthoceps or other melee-enhancing exotics
- Hunter builds with Combination Blow or Liar's Handshake
- Warlock builds using Winter's Guile or Necrotic Grip
Notes
- The overflow effect does not require kills, only melee damage
- Works with both regular melees and ranged melee abilities
- The magazine overflow is particularly valuable on weapons with small base magazines
