Shotguns you are wielding fire shield-piercing rounds and stun Barrier Champions.

Shield Piercing Mechanics

• Anti-Barrier rounds bypass various types of shielding:

 *  Barrier Champion shields
 * Vex Hobgoblin immunity shields
 * Hydra rotating shields
 * Cabal Phalanx physical shields
 * Taken Phalanx shields
 * Screecher immunity shields

Damage Bonus

• Shotguns deal 20% bonus damage against Barrier Champions when this mod is equipped
• In Crucible, Anti-Barrier weapons deal 20% bonus damage against Titan Barricades

Overcharge Effect

When the Overcharged Weapons modifier is active, Shotguns gain enhanced capabilities.

Strategy

While Shotguns excel at rapidly depleting Barrier shields due to their high burst damage, their close-range requirement makes them situational in high-end content. This mod is best utilized in:

• Low to mid-tier Nightfalls
• Activities with smaller combat spaces
• Builds focused on aggressive, close-quarters combat
• Situations where you have strong survivability tools

Limitations

The mod's effectiveness is limited in:

• Grandmaster Nightfalls where engagement distances are critical
• Activities with high enemy density and limited cover
• Solo content where maintaining safe distances is paramount
