Rank-up packages

Rank-up packages are rewards in Destiny 2 that players receive when increasing their Reputation rank with various vendors throughout the game.

Overview

Rank-up packages are part of Destiny 2's reputation system, where players complete activities to earn reputation with specific vendors. Upon reaching certain reputation thresholds, players receive packages containing gear, materials, and other rewards specific to that vendor.

How Rank-up Packages Work

Earning Reputation

• Players earn reputation by completing activities associated with specific vendors
• Vanguard activities (Strikes, Nightfalls) grant reputation with Commander Zavala
• Crucible matches grant reputation with Lord Shaxx
• Gambit matches grant reputation with The Drifter
• Decoding engrams grants reputation with Master Rahool

Receiving Packages

• Packages are automatically sent to players upon reaching rank thresholds
• Starting at rank 3, Guardians receive one to two legendary items in the mail every time they rank up
• Higher ranks may provide additional rewards including Enhancement Cores, Enhancement Prisms, and Ascendant Shards

Vanguard (Zavala)

• Vanguard weapons and armor
• Masterwork materials
• Current season's Ritual Weapon
• Ascendant Shard at max rank (10,000 reputation)

Crucible (Lord Shaxx)

• Crucible weapons and armor
• PvP-focused gear
• Masterwork materials

Gambit (The Drifter)

• Gambit weapons and armor
• Infamy rank rewards
• Gambit-specific gear

Cryptarch (Master Rahool)

• Decoded engrams
• Starting at rank 3, two to four encrypted or legendary engrams per rank-up
• Exotic Ciphers at higher ranks
• Tier 3 Decoding at rank 16+

Rank System Features

Rank Progression

• Rank progression is shared account-wide across all characters
• Each vendor has their own reputation track
• Reputation can be increased by playing on any character

Rank Resets

• Upon reaching maximum rank, players can reset their rank
• Resetting provides additional benefits:

Refreshes the reward track Adds additional perks to weapon drops Increases chances of desired perk combinations

Seasonal Resets

• Vendor ranks reset at the end of each Season
• Players must claim rewards before seasonal reset
• New rewards become available each season

Rank Milestones

• Rank 1: Basic rewards unlocked
• Rank 2: Armor available for purchase from vendors
• Rank 3: Weapons available for purchase, legendary items in mail per rank-up
• Max Rank: Premium rewards like Ascendant Shards, option to reset

Vendor Engrams

With the Lightfall expansion, vendor engrams were introduced:

• Engrams can be claimed from vendors
• Provide specific vendor weapons and armor
• Focus options available for targeted rewards
