Bound Presence is a material from the Season of the Haunted. It has a maximum stack size of 5.
Acquisition
Bound Presence can occasionally drop when binding Nightmares with 500 
Vestiges of Dread after completing Tier III of a Nightmare Containment Public Event on the Derelict Leviathan.
The item description says that a Bound Presence drop is "guaranteed on first binding each week." However, this is somewhat misleading. The guaranteed drop is tied to the Bound in Sorrow quest. Each week of the quest has a step where the player must complete tiers of Nightmare Containment and obtain a Bound Presence. This quest step will guarantee a Bound Presence drop when binding with Vestiges of Dread. Multiple steps can be completed within a single week, and a Bound Presence will still be guaranteed to drop for each step.
Usage
When opening the chest at the end of a Sever mission, a Bound Presence will be consumed if the player has one. This causes the chest to reward a Haunted weapon and 
Opulent Umbral Energy in addition to the normal rewards.
Upgrades
The following Crown of Sorrow upgrades can affect the usage of Bound Presence:
Sever Deepsight: The first time you redeem a Bound Presence each week, you are guaranteed a Deepsight modded Haunted weapon.
Umbral Rift: The first time you redeem a Bound Presence each week, you are rewarded additional 
Opulent Umbral Energy.
