Forging Iron is a Legendary Quest. It serves as an introduction to the Iron Banner event.
This quest is given to all players who participate in the event, including those who have done so in previous seasons.
1. Forging Iron
Description
Complete a match in Iron Banner.
"The legacy of the Iron Lords is no slight thing. Do you have what it takes to honor that legacy?" —Lord Saladin

Saladin's gaze could fell trees. The Iron Lord does not lift his eyes from you as you approach.
"Well met, Guardian. Every time I return to the City, I'm reminded of how far we've come. Nevertheless, we must stay vigilant. Our enemies grow stronger; so should we.
"My duty to the Cabal does not prevent me from carrying the Iron Banner forward. This test of skill is one that hones Guardians in ways that the conventional Crucible can't.
"More than that, the proceedings honor the Iron Lords who have come and gone before you. Will you make them proud?"
2. Forging Iron
Description
Complete a daily challenge.
"To claim victory, you must think beyond mere tactics. Prove your ability to juggle long-term concerns with the immediacy of battle." —Lord Saladin

Complete Iron Banner matches while wearing at least one piece of Iron Banner armor. Each additional piece grants extra progress.

- Iron Banner armor can be obtained by decrypting Iron Engrams at Master Rahool, or through Focused Decoding at Lord Saladin.
