Chalice of Opulence was a Legendary artifact in Destiny 2 introduced during Season of Opulence. This unique item allowed players to customize their rewards from The Menagerie activity by slotting different combinations of runes. The Chalice was removed from the game with the launch of Beyond Light as part of the Destiny Content Vault.

The Chalice of Opulence was a gift from Emperor Calus that served as both a progression system and a loot customization tool. By upgrading the Chalice and slotting specific runes, players could guarantee specific weapons and armor drops from The Menagerie's final chest, making it one of the most player-friendly loot systems in Destiny 2's history.
Acquisition
Players obtained the Chalice of Opulence by completing The Invitation quest, which became available at the start of Season of Opulence. The quest involved: 1. Speaking with Benedict 99-40 in the Tower 2. Completing an introductory Menagerie run 3. Receiving the Chalice from Werner 99-40 on the Nessus Barge
Functionality
Rune Slots
The Chalice featured three rune slots that determined rewards:
- Slot 1: Determined the type of gear (weapon type or armor slot)
- Slot 2: Refined the specific item within that category
- Slot 3: Guaranteed a Masterwork version of the item
