Werner 99-40 was a Frame vendor in Destiny 2 who served as Emperor Calus's envoy during the Season of Opulence. He was located on the Imperial Barge in Watcher's Grave on Nessus.

Description

Werner 99-40 was a Frame that had been hacked by Emperor Calus to serve as his representative. The Frame was stationed on a barge sent by the Loyalists from the Leviathan to Watcher's Grave, Nessus. Werner was also designated as a member of the Shadows of Calus.

Function

Werner 99-40 served several important functions during Season of Opulence:

  • Provided bounties and challenges for Guardians
  • Offered various runes used in the Chalice of Opulence
  • Sold Imperial Engrams
  • Distributed Leviathan armor sets

Functionally, Werner was identical to his Tower counterpart, Benedict 99-40, except for certain quest-specific actions.

Quest Involvement

Werner 99-40 played a key role in the "Invitation of the Emperor" questline:

  • After earning the Chalice of Opulence, players were directed to complete a bounty for Werner
  • Simply visiting Werner at the Barge was not enough - players had to interact with him to receive specific challenges
  • He provided the "Spoils of War" bounty as part of the questline
