Momentum Control
Information

Momentum Control is a rotator Crucible game mode in Destiny 2 that emphasizes weapon lethality and tactical gameplay. Often compared to Halo's SWAT mode, Momentum Control features drastically reduced time-to-kill, disabled radar, and modified ability regeneration, creating a more lethal and tactical Control experience.

Overview

Momentum Control represents the antithesis of Mayhem, focusing on gunplay over abilities. Where Mayhem amplifies ability usage, Momentum Control strips away many of the game's defensive mechanics to create a pure, high-stakes shooting experience where every weapon becomes lethal.

Core Mechanics

Weapon Changes

  • All weapon damage significantly increased
  • Most weapons achieve 1-2 shot kills
  • Scout Rifles: One-shot headshots
  • Pulse Rifles: Extremely fast kills
  • SMGs: Near-instant time-to-kill
  • All weapon archetypes become viable

Gameplay Modifications

  • Instant Respawns: No respawn timer
  • Disabled Radar: No motion tracker
  • Zone Capture: Significantly faster
  • Increased Points: Higher score per kill
  • Modified Heavy Ammo: More frequent spawns

Ability System

  • Abilities do NOT regenerate passively
  • Regeneration only through:
 * Defeating opponents
 * Capturing zones
 * Specific armor mods
  • Forces strategic ability usage

Super Modifications

  • Increased damage resistance for roaming Supers
  • Higher Super energy from kills
  • Heavy ammo more abundant
  • Supers remain powerful but less dominant
