Hive Barrier is a deprecated Armor Mod in Destiny 2 that was introduced during Season of Opulence. It provided damage resistance when taking damage from Hive enemies.

Effect

"Receiving Hive damage gives a 20% reduction in damage for 10 seconds"

When equipped, this mod activated a 20% damage reduction buff for 10 seconds whenever the player took damage from any Hive source. This effect could refresh while active, making it valuable for sustained Hive encounters.

Acquisition

Primary Sources

 * Normal mode (lower drop chance)
 * Heroic mode (significantly improved drop rates)

Requirements

  • Chalice of Opulence: "Power and Efficiency III" node must be unlocked
  • Weekly Limit: Maximum 3 mods per character per week from Menagerie
  • Could not be acquired until Chalice requirements were met

Functionality

  • Activation: Any Hive damage source (ranged, melee, environmental)
  • Duration: 10 seconds
  • Damage Reduction: 20%
  • Refresh: Timer reset upon taking additional Hive damage
  • Stacking: Did not stack with multiple copies
