Unyielding Favor Set

The Unyielding Favor Set is a universal ornament armor set in Destiny 2 introduced during Season of Defiance. Once unlocked, these ornaments can be applied to any eligible Legendary armor piece to change its appearance for all characters of the relevant class on an account.

Overview

The Unyielding Favor Set was originally available as premium rewards through the Season 20 Season Pass during Season of Defiance, which launched alongside the Lightfall expansion on February 28, 2023. The set features Techeun-inspired aesthetics, reflecting the Awoken design language prominent during that season's narrative focus on the conflict with Calus's Shadow Legion.

Name Confusion

Initially, there was confusion regarding the naming of this set. Season of Defiance released with Techeun-styled activity armor called the "Unyielding Favor Set," while the seasonal ornaments were named the "Techeun's Regalia Set." After community feedback pointed out this mismatch, Bungie swapped the names. The activity armor became the "Techeun's Regalia Set" while the seasonal ornaments became the "Unyielding Favor Set."

The Unyielding Favor Set consists of five pieces for each Guardian class:

Hunter

Titan

Seasonal Perk

When originally available as activity armor (before the name swap), pieces of this set came with a unique seasonal perk:

Generate Awoken Favors with fewer final blows. Each piece of armor you are wearing with this perk on it increases this bonus, to a maximum of 4 items.

This perk was specific to Season of Defiance activities and is no longer functional in current gameplay.

Acquisition

The Unyielding Favor Set was obtained through the paid track of the Season of Defiance Season Pass. Different pieces unlocked at various season pass ranks, with the first piece (gauntlets) becoming available early in the progression. As a seasonal ornament set, it required the purchase of Season of Defiance or the Lightfall Deluxe Edition to access.

Currently, the set is no longer obtainable through normal means, as Season of Defiance has concluded. Bungie has not indicated whether these ornaments will return through the Eververse store or other means in the future.

Design

The Unyielding Favor Set features elegant Awoken-inspired designs with flowing fabric elements, intricate metalwork, and a color palette that emphasizes purples, blues, and metallic accents characteristic of Reef aesthetics. The ornaments were designed to complement the Season of Defiance's narrative themes involving the Awoken and their technology.

Trivia

• The Unyielding Favor Set was one of several armor sets that underwent a name change post-launch due to community feedback.
• As universal ornaments, these pieces can be applied to any Legendary armor, making them purely cosmetic choices that don't affect gameplay statistics.
• The set's design elements were inspired by Techeun ceremonial armor, reflecting the mystical warrior-scholars who serve Mara Sov.
