Description
Altered Element is a currency fused with dark energy that allows Guardians to focus Umbral Engrams into specific gear types. The currency represents the energy needed to manipulate the chaotic nature of Umbral Engrams into more predictable rewards.
Acquisition
Altered Element can be obtained through:
Daily Bounties
- Daily bounties from the Prismatic Recaster reward 50 Altered Element each
- Only daily bounties provide Altered Element (not weekly or repeatable bounties)
- Bounties can be completed in most playlist or sandbox activities
- Many bounties require using specific weapon types or damage types
Other Sources
- Season pass rewards
- Seasonal challenges
- Activity completions during relevant seasons
Usage
25 Altered Element can be used for:
- Partial payment toward focusing Umbral Engrams
- Basic focusing typically requires 50 Altered Element minimum
- Advanced focusing can require up to 250 Altered Element plus additional materials
- The first three basic Umbral Engram focuses each week are free
