General Information

• Common items are denoted in-game by a gray tooltip.
• Common items fall into the first tier of rarity.

Characteristics

• Common equipment cannot have a base Attack/Defense greater than 200.
• Common equipment cannot be Infused.
• Common equipment cannot be Infused into other equipment.
• Common equipment cannot be recolored with Shaders.
• Common equipment cannot be altered with Mods.
• Common equipment can be purchased from Faction Vendors.
• Common engrams decrypt automatically when they are picked up.

Acquisition - Common Equipment

• Common equipment may be obtained upon completion of certain Adventures.
• Common equipment may be obtained upon completion of certain Quests.
• Common equipment may be obtained upon completion of a Crucible match.

• Common engrams may drop randomly from defeated enemies.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from planetary chests.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from region chests.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from High-Value Target chests.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from Public Event chests.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from Lost Sector chests.
• Common engrams may drop randomly from Cayde's loot stashes.
