Overview
Passages serve as entry tickets and scorecards for Trials of Osiris, Destiny 2's premier PvP endgame activity. Each Passage tracks wins and losses throughout a player's Trials run, with seven wins traditionally granting access to The Lighthouse and its exclusive rewards.
Current System (Episode: Heresy)
As of Episode: Heresy, Trials underwent significant changes:
Two Passage System
- Trials of Osiris Passage
* Designed for new PvP players * Awards bonus reputation * Uses Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM) * Cannot access the Lighthouse
- Lighthouse Passage
* Grants Lighthouse access after seven wins * Wins don't need to be consecutive * Uses Open Matchmaking initially * Becomes "Flawless Passage" with 7 consecutive wins * Flawless enables SBMM and Adept weapon drops
Traditional Passages (Legacy)
Before Episode: Heresy, five Passage types existed:
Always Available
- Passage of Mercy
* Forgives one loss per card * Most popular for Flawless attempts * Ideal for average players
- Passage of Ferocity
* Third win counts as two (if no losses) * Speeds up Flawless runs * High risk, high reward
Unlockable Passages
- Passage of Confidence
* Unlocked after going Flawless * Bonus rewards from Flawless chest * For confident players
- Passage of Wealth
* Unlocked at 5 wins (any card) * Increased Trials Token drops * Good for farming rewards
- Passage of Wisdom
* Unlocked at 7 wins (any card) * Bonus XP from wins * Helps with seasonal progression
