Font of Light was an Elemental Well Combat Style Mod in Destiny 2 that was later renamed to Active Pulse due to its misleading description. The mod was subsequently deprecated along with the entire Elemental Well system during the Lightfall expansion.

Overview
Font of Light was part of the Elemental Well mod family introduced in Season of the Chosen. Despite its description stating it would generate Orbs of Light on finisher kills, the mod actually created an Arc pulse when taking damage while Charged with Light and surrounded by enemies.
Original Functionality
- Listed Effect: Defeating a combatant with a finisher generates Orbs of Light
- Actual Effect: When Charged with Light and surrounded by enemies, taking damage releases an Arc pulse that damages nearby combatants
Description Error
The mod suffered from a significant labeling error where both its name and description did not match its actual functionality. This led to confusion among players who expected it to generate Orbs of Light but instead received a defensive Arc pulse effect.
Renaming to Active Pulse
Due to the misleading nature of the original name and description, Bungie renamed the mod to "Active Pulse" to better reflect its actual functionality. This change occurred before the mod's eventual deprecation.
Deprecation
Font of Light, along with all other Elemental Well mods, was deprecated with the release of Lightfall in February 2023. The deprecation was part of a comprehensive overhaul of Destiny 2's buildcrafting system.
Reasons for Deprecation
- Simplification of the mod system
- Merger of Charged with Light and Elemental Well systems into the new Armor Charge system
- Shift in focus from Elemental Wells to Orbs of Power
Replacement System
The Elemental Well system, including Font of Light, was replaced by:
