The Pale Heart is a destination introduced in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, located within The Traveler itself. This surreal landscape represents the Traveler's consciousness, corrupted by The Witness's influence, and serves as the final battleground in the Light and Darkness Saga.

Overview

The Pale Heart exists on the other side of the portal The Witness created using The Veil and The Traveler at the conclusion of the Lightfall campaign. As both a physical and metaphorical representation of the Traveler's heart, this destination shifts and changes based on the consciousness of those who enter it, creating a unique environment that blends memories from throughout Destiny's history.

Description

Environmental Design

The Pale Heart features multiple biomes within a single destination, unprecedented in Destiny 2. The landscape dynamically shifts between:

The Witness's Corruption

At the center of the Pale Heart stands a massive monolith created by The Witness, from which it attempts to use the Traveler's Light to reshape reality according to its vision of the Final Shape. Players experience increasing corruption as they approach this monolith, with environments transitioning from verdant oases to barren wastelands.
