Attributes

Invader Synth is a consumable item in Destiny 2 that was introduced during Season of the Drifter. It is used to create Invader armor and activate perks related to the Invader role in Gambit Prime.

Overview

Invader Synths are one of four types of synths available in Destiny 2, each corresponding to a specific Gambit Prime role. The Invader Synth is specifically designed for players who focus on invading the enemy team's arena and disrupting their Mote collection efforts.

Usage

Creating Motes

The primary use of Invader Synths is to create Invader Motes using a Synthesizer:

These motes are then used in The Reckoning activity to earn Invader armor pieces with role-specific perks.

Direct Consumption

Players can consume an Invader Synth directly from their inventory to receive:

  • A 30-minute buff that grants +3 to the Invader armor set bonus
  • This allows access to more Invader perks without wearing the full armor set
  • Useful for testing builds or when missing armor pieces

Acquisition

Invader Synths can be obtained through several methods:

Guaranteed Sources

Performance-Based Rewards

In Gambit Prime, Invader Synths are awarded for specific Invader-role actions:

  • Killing multiple enemies during a single invasion
  • Denying motes by eliminating opponents carrying them
  • Getting Army of One medals (team wipes during invasion)

Invader Role

The Invader role in Gambit Prime focuses on:

  • Crossing through the invasion portal to the enemy side
  • Eliminating enemy Guardians
  • Forcing opponents to lose collected motes
  • Disrupting the enemy team's banking strategy

Associated Perks

When used to create Invader armor, the following role perks become available:

  • +3: Improved invasion overshield
  • +6: Improved ammo economy while invading
  • +10: Damage bonus while invading
  • +15: Bank lockdown - locks the enemy bank when invading

Sunset Status

With the removal of Gambit Prime and The Reckoning in Beyond Light, Invader Synths are no longer obtainable or usable in the current version of Destiny 2. The entire Gambit Prime armor system was deprecated when original Gambit and Gambit Prime were merged into a single playlist.

Trivia

  • Invader Synths had a red color scheme to match the Invader role's visual identity
  • The Invader role was considered one of the most impactful in Gambit Prime matches
