Acquisition
Unlocked on tier 2 of the Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel Seasonal Artifact. This perk was added in Act II of Episode: Revenant.
Usage
This perk modifies the behavior of the Emergency Reinforcement armor mod, allowing you to retain one Armor Charge when it triggers.
Modified Mechanics
- Standard Emergency Reinforcement: Consumes all Armor Charges on activation
- With Emergency Flare: Leaves 1 Armor Charge remaining
- Minimum Requirement: Now requires at least 2 Armor Charges to trigger (instead of 1)
- Full Benefit: Still provides the same damage resistance as if all charges were consumed
Emergency Reinforcement Overview
Understanding the base mod is crucial:
- Effect: 10% damage resistance for 6-12 seconds when shields break
- Base Duration: 6 seconds
- Extended Duration: +3 seconds per additional Armor Charge or mod copy
- Maximum Duration: 12 seconds (with 5 charges or mod stacking)
Strategic Benefits
- Surge Retention: Keep weapon surge mods active after taking damage
- Continuous Protection: Maintain some Armor Charge benefits
- Build Flexibility: Less punishing for aggressive playstyles
- Charge Economy: Better Armor Charge management
Synergies
Works exceptionally well with:
- The Thick of It: Generates Armor Charges while surrounded
- Finders Keepers: Chance for Armor Charges from ammo pickups
- Charge Generation Mods: Any source of frequent Armor Charges
- Surge Mods: Maintains weapon damage bonuses
Build Applications
- Aggressive Builds: Less punishment for taking damage
- Solo Content: Maintains offensive capabilities while gaining defense
- High-End Content: Crucial for maintaining damage in dangerous situations
- Charge-Heavy Builds: Maximizes value from Armor Charge investments
Important Notes
- Cannot trigger Emergency Reinforcement with only 1 Armor Charge while this is active
- The damage resistance is not reduced despite consuming fewer charges
- Visual indicators show when Emergency Reinforcement is ready
- The retained charge can immediately benefit from surge mods
