Foundries
Hi! I see you're adding foundries and foundry pages. Do they serve any gameplay purpose? — Selph-3 (talk) 14:41, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Selph! I wouldn't say the serve a gameplay purpose, not from my point of view. I personally use it as a referrence for looking up weapons or cleaning out my stash. For example: just recently I was looking for a legendary autorifle equivalent to the Refrain-23, which I found via the foundry lists (Galliard-42).
- Today I was look for some Veist weapons and couldn't find all of them in the foundries list. That's why I updated the tables/list of all foundries to include all weapons. IMO those pages serve a purpose, just not a gameplay one.
- The foundry page for IKELOS might not be necessary. Most of the weapons are alos listed on the Escalation Protocol page. --Frm (talk) 16:28, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- Well, this wiki is focused on gameplay, so I'm not sure if listing foundries and having foundry pages is necessary. Most of the time people don't pay attention to foundries, and I think if someone would need a legendary equivalent of an auto rifle, they would go check the list of auto rifles instead of looking up foundries. These pages seem to better fit on Destinypedia than here. — Selph-3 (talk) 16:35, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry about this. The pages existed already, so I thought it would be alright to bring them up to date. If this wiki is only about gameplay, you might want to add that to the main page or help/about page. Just to avoid misunderstandings like this in the future. --Frm (talk) 16:46, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- You have nothing to apologize for, the pages were made already before you started editing stuff. It's just that the "Foundries" page contains plenty of speculation and is better completely rewritten, but I don't see a reason to even bother with that. Since you've started to handle foundry stuff, I thought you can explain how this information can be useful gameplay-wise. And I do agree that the wiki needs an about page, but that one has to be created by an admin, everyone else don't have permission to do so. — Selph-3 (talk) 18:40, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
