The Conversion is the 2nd mission for the Dynasty World Quest.

Preparation

Recommended Power: 130+

Equipment recommendations:

  • Most of the mission will have you fighting Taken in confined spaces, but there will be occasional Taken Hobgoblins. Focus on mid- to long-range equipment.

Walkthrough

Follow the objective marker to the wall control structure in Giant's Scar, dealing with regular threats on the way as you see fit. Enter the structure and fight your way up through the Taken Acolytes and Taken Phalanxes. Keep fighting up the ramp area.

At this point, you will be met by Vex Goblins. Clear the entire area and make sure all threats are eliminated. Go up the ramp afterward and engage the Taken Centurion and Phalanxes that are fighting the Vex Harpies. Once all foes are dealt with, investigate your surroundings.

Head towards the second portion of the storage room. You will have to eliminate a couple of Taken Knights with some Acolytes. Try to keep your distance from, while fighting them. Jump to the upper corner platform. From there, go through the door that will lead to an area that is usually not accessible. Some Taken Thralls will attack you. Back up and engage them from a safe distance.

Once the Thralls are dead, proceed into the small cargo area. A Taken Wizard will teleport away, so you will have plenty of time to scan your surroundings. The stain left by the warping Taken shows you where to go next.

Move into the drill area. Then, look for the earth ramp on the west side and go up it, while keeping your eyes open. There should be three Thralls at the entrance to Excavation Site II. Once they are down, proceed to the first cargo bay. Remain near the entrance as you clear the room of all enemies. It is recommended to start with the Vex Goblins and Hobgoblins near the floating rift globe first, then move on to the Phalanxes and Knights in the sunken corridor.

Moving on, you will find some motionless Vex, but they are no threat, so you can save your ammo and leave them be. Shoot the small rift globe blocking your way onward. In the next area, you will have to destroy a larger globe and deal with some Taken Goblins and Hobgoblins. They will be backed up by some Taken Thralls, so be mindful of them. Once you drop them all, move up the ramp.

Your next challenge will consist of a sizeable number of enemies. There will be a Taken Wizard and a Taken Centurion. A Taken Minotaur and Hobgoblin will also be present, each with an energy link to their own Taken Goblin. The links will protect the Minotaur and Hobgoblin, so get rid of the two Goblins first, then move on to the other four. Once you're done, destroy the small rift globe blocking the path and move on.

Entering the main control room, you will face a Taken Boss Knight. Engage it from a safe distance, but keep in mind that he will call reinforcements once a third of his health is gone. A Taken Hydra will spawn, alongside some Goblins. Kill the Goblins first, so they can't establish a protective energy link with the Hydra, then focus on the Hydra itself. Utilize as much cover as you can and shoot between its shields. More Goblins will appear, but they're nothing to worry about. Just make sure you blast them first, then return to the Hydra.

Just when you think you've killed the Hydra, it will spawn once more, with some more Goblins and Hobgoblins as backup. Employ the same strategy - eliminate the minor foes first before focusing on the Hydra.

Once the second Hydra is dead, use the marked terminal to lower the energy barrier that's blocking your way. Drop down to the entrance chamber and leave the drill site. This will end the mission and you will be able to move on to the next one.
