Meditation
"Looking into the sky, I can't help but see all we've lost. People, perspectives, whole planets. I began this fight so long ago, I've lost more than I had when I started.
"Yet the fight will continue because it must. We will lose much, much more.
"Prepare yourself for that. Meditate on what you've lost. Feel it in your fingers, then let it go."
Meditation
"You and I have seen our share. We have our stories, our successes, our regrets. A tapestry of beautiful experience.
"We are united by strange forces which we barely understand, and they afford us a life we could never have dreamed of.
"Through the challenge, through the pain, through the worry for tomorrow, we must always recognize this truth:
"It is good to be a Guardian. Don't forget it."
Meditation
"You have become a truly formidable force. This power makes it easy to forget our true purpose.
"Our Light is a beacon, and though we may be forced to wield it as a weapon, battle is not its true purpose.
"What is its true purpose? I'm not sure I can say with certainty, but I feel it is far deeper than any single word can contain.
"Meditate on this, Guardian. Sometimes uncertainty yields the greatest insights."
Meditation
"I once read a poem of a man whose soul was incinerated after staring at the sun for too long. Far from dead, he lived the rest of his days in communion with the universe itself, blessing the people of his small village with wisdom beyond peer.
"A strange tale, but one I find myself relating to after particularly… intense lessons from the Traveler in meditation.
"So, Guardian," Ikora says and smiles, "what wisdom might you share with me?"
Meditation
"Hello again, Guardian. The Traveler has many lessons to teach us. If only we were all so receptive to them as you have been.
"In my quieter moments, I begin to think I may understand just what these lessons mean. Yet the moment I concentrate on them, they slip away.
"Though these moments may confuse us, the pursuit is worth the frustration that can follow. Meditate on that today."
Meditation
"I was out for a walk this morning when I heard two children laughing. I didn't think much of it. I kept on my way. What was so funny? I don't know; I'll never know.
"Yet as I've continued to reflect on that moment, I realized… I don't remember the last time I laughed. Truly, uncontrollably laughed.
"The weight of our responsibilities can sap the joy out of the mundane, yet some of the deepest insights one can have come packaged in jokes.
"Don't lose your sense of humor, Guardian. Meditate on something that makes you smile today."
Meditation
"Time to meditate once again. It may seem repetitive, but ritual is essential. I learned that when I was studying under Osiris.
"Osiris has always had his head in the clouds. Cosmic priorities, galactic concerns, universal woes. When he was driven out of the City, one of the major complaints lodged against him was his absence. The people of this City did not see his contribution, didn't think he was worth the trouble of the zealots that gathered round him.
"I like to think I got a glimpse of the real Osiris. The Osiris that could never lead a cult of personality. The Osiris who eats, breathes, and sleeps, however seldom." Ikora cracks a smile.
"There was one thing Osiris never failed to do day in, day out. With careful precision, he prepared himself a cup of tea at exactly the same time, in exactly the same manner. I'm certain that a man who so dutifully observed this tradition could never have lost his head in the clouds.
"Don't lose sight of the here and now, Guardian. The future can't exist without it."
Meditation
"There are few feelings quite like coming back home. What do you feel when you arrive home? Is it happiness, relief, nostalgia for what you left behind?
"I recall one homecoming after a lengthy mission. I stepped into my bedroom and was confronted by, to my surprise, unease. It was so empty. The walls, the floors, my space was simply that… space. Being away for so long gave me new perspective, reminded me of the importance of creating a place where you can truly be comfortable, truly yourself. I resolved never to neglect that need again.
"Close your eyes, envision your home. Whatever peculiar sense comes to you, meditate on that, Guardian."
Meditation
"The Light is a beautiful thing, a privilege. One that so many will never experience the way you and I do.
"Why are we so lucky? Many ask, but there's never an answer. I prefer to think about why so many are unlucky, passed up for the privilege which you and I take for granted.
"How many times have I died? How many second chances at life have I been given? I can scarcely count. Yet so many live with the knowledge that they only get one.
"If you're hoping for a message, a point. I'm afraid I don't have one. It feels wrong, but it is."
Meditation
"It can be difficult to manage the weight of expectations. The expectations placed on us by our roles as Guardians, how we serve those who need us, but also those expectations we foist on ourselves.
"You have taken on even more power, unlocked even more potential. These new abilities may not sit right at first. Don't lose faith if not everything comes naturally.
"We all falter under the weight of expectations. Pick yourself back up, and carry them again tomorrow."
