Heavy Ammo Scavenger is a Deprecated armor mod in Destiny 2. This mod has been deprecated and no longer functions. Players may replace it with another mod.

Description
When active, Heavy Ammo Scavenger was a leg armor mod that increased the amount of heavy ammunition obtained from ammo bricks. The mod affected how much ammo was received from each pickup, not the frequency of ammo drops.
Function
- Scavenger mods caused all ammo bricks to restore more ammunition
- By default, ammo bricks restore roughly 25-33% of ammo reserves
- With scavenger mods, bricks provided roughly 3-5% more of total reserves as ammo
- This allowed Rocket Launchers to collect 1-2 more rockets per pickup
- Machine Guns could scavenge another magazine worth of ammunition
- The mod had an energy cost of 5 compared to weapon-specific scavenger mods which cost 3

Differences from Ammo Finder
It is important to note that Scavenger mods were different from Finder mods:
- Scavenger mods: Increased the amount of ammo obtained from existing ammo bricks
- Finder mods: Increased the drop rate of ammo bricks
Deprecation
Heavy Ammo Scavenger was deprecated as part of the armor mod rework in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The mod system was later overhauled again in Destiny 2: Lightfall with the introduction of the Armor Charge system. Players who still have this mod equipped should replace it with one of the newer armor mods available in the current system.
