The Last City

General

The Last City, often simply called the City, is the last great safe settlement of humanity, built beneath the Traveler on Earth after the Collapse. It is protected by a huge defensive Wall and by the Guardians who answer to the Vanguard. The Tower, the Guardians' home base, overlooks the City and is where players reach many vendors, such as The Drifter.

History

The City was founded by survivors who gathered under the dormant Traveler during the dark age that followed the Collapse, and it has stood as humanity's stronghold ever since. During the Red War, Ghaul and the Cabal Red Legion attacked the City and seized the Traveler, driving the Guardians out and cutting them off from their Light. After Ghaul was defeated the Traveler awoke, and the City began to recover and rebuild.
