Walkthrough
Entering the Pyramidion
When dropped at the Strike location, head for the Pyramidion's entrance.

Once you reach it, try not to go in guns blazing and employ some tactics. Expect to be met by Goblins and Harpies on site. Send your designated tank in the central sunken area to inflict the majority of the damage, while the other two players stay on the perimeter and engage from a distance. While the tank fights up close, make sure that the rest of the fireteam looks out for Hobgoblins and drops them as soon as they appear.

When the enemy lines are thinned out, stand in the altars of light to unlock the door. There will be two altars, so send a player to each one to open the entrance faster. Once the door opens, eliminate any remaining Vex forces and descend into the Pyramidion.

Inside the Pyramidion
Once inside, keep following the path downward. You will encounter some Taken as your first enemies inside the structure, then several groups of Vex and Taken fighting each other.

As you descent the numerous platforms, make sure your toughest player goes in close, while the other two provide covering fire from the platform above. Once a platform is clear, all three of you should move a step down and repeat the same process.

Next up, you will have to deal with some laser traps. The first three are easy enough. After that, you will have a laser floor and a laser wall to jump over. Then, slide under the second laser wall and drop down the shaft, while controlling your position carefully to avoid the next three laser traps.

Once you go through the laser traps, you will arrive a pretty large open space full of enemies. On the other side of this area, there will be a ribcage-like structure that holds the first warpgate. Fight your way forward towards it, but don't be too aggressive or you might end up overwhelmed by the enemies. Stay mobile and use the available cover to isolate as many enemies as you can while you deal with a smaller group. When you've cleared the area, the warpgate will open.

Go through the warpgate and you will be presented with some more laser traps. Navigate those carefully, timing your movements, as they will disappear and reappear at regular intervals.

Moving on, you will have a horde of enemies to deal with and three light altars to activate. Make sure you deal with the majority of the enemy forces first, making any snipers present your main target. Once the area is relatively clear of foes, send two players to activate the first altar. Once an altar is activated, reinforcements will arrive, so just repeat this process for the remaining two.

Make sure you save at least one Super for when the third altar is activated because a Hydra will spawn once all three are active. Deal with the Hydra and whatever other enemies remain, then go through the second warpgate.

You will be met by some more laser traps. Time your movements carefully and dodge them. After going through some of the traps, you will have to deal with a small group of enemies before having to dodge four more laser traps in a circular corridor. On the other end of the corridor, you will find the third warpgate.

Once you go through the warpgate, your objective will update and you will have to hack four network towers. There will be plenty of enemies to battle while you do it too. Be mindful of a couple of Cyclopses on the far end of this area, as well as some Hobgoblins on the upper platforms. Make those your priority target, then focus on any Minotaurs in the area.

It's recommended to stick together, with the entire fireteam attacking one network tower. Then, as one of you hacks the tower, the other two should focus on securing the area and clearing a path towards the next nearest tower. When all four have been hacked, move through the final warp gate.

Fighting Brakion, Genesis Mind
Drop down the big "not pit" after eliminating any foes around it. Now, it's time for a boss battle. Luckily, you will have control over when it starts, so take your time and prepare accordingly.

When you're ready, summon the Genesis Mind and focus all of your fire on its head. Stick to cover and don't be afraid to use your grenades. Once you deal some damage to the boss, it will retreat to another location and summon a white shield that your bullets are worthless against.

When the white shield goes up, a group of goblins will spawn. Deal with those and stand on the marked altar to activate it. There will be a total of two altars that you need to repeat this with before the Genesis Mind's shield drops. Once it does, focus all fire on its head once more, aiming for the red light in the middle.

You will have to deal with the white shield several times through the course of battle before you take a third of the Genesis Mind's health away. When the shield wall rises the next few times, additional enemy types might spawn, including Minotaurs.

With a third of its health gone, the boss will start moving around. So, make sure you stick to cover and always be aware of its position. Keep moving, keep your head down, and keep focusing your fire on its head. Also, keep in mind that the low blocks that you will use for cover can disappear and rearrange, so be ready to change your position at all times.

At this point, you should watch your ammo. Running low on ammunition will send you running around the area and out of cover, so make every shot count. It's advised to have your fireteam split up and attacking from three different directions.

With another third of its health gone, the boss will become even more aggressive. Just stick to cover and you should be okay, but keep in mind that more powerful reinforcements will also start spawning. Deal with them as quickly as you can, then keep shooting at the Genesis Mind's head. Once its head blows up, focus your fire on the white glowing portion of its torso. Sticky grenades and Supers can be extra helpful here.

Once Brakion drops for good, you're free to collect your hard-earned loot.
Introduction
The Inverted Spire is a Strike in the Arcadian Valley that takes you through the planet of Nessus fighting against The Red Legion and Vex. The Cabal forces are using the plant of Nessus as a drilling site for materials to build an arsenal. A team of three Guardians fights their way through the Cabal forces making their way towards a giant drill that The Red Legion are using to mine Nessus resources. After making their way to the drill, the Guardians face off against Vex forces and the Protheon Modular Mind guarding the base of the drill. After defeating the Protheon Modular Mind the Strike ends.

* This Strike can be accessed from the Director by selecting the Vanguard Strikes node after all three members of the Vanguard have returned to The Farm.

Enemies Encountered
* Cabal
** Centurion
** Phalanx
** Legionary
** War Beast

Boss
Players will face a Vex Minotaur known as Protheon, Modular Mind.

Mechanics
This encounter is divided into three phases. Upon having 25% of its Health depleted, the boss will destroy the floor of the arena, dropping all combatants into an area with different topography and cover. This will occur twice. During the third and final phase, the arena will be surrounded by an expanse of Vex fluid; this serves as an environmental hazard and deals moderate Arc damage to any players who stand in it.

Walkthrough
The Cistern
Once you're dropped on-site, head to the southeast. You will come across some Cabal forces fighting some Vex. Eliminate them all, then interact with the marked conflux. This will make some floating platforms appear just ahead.

Navigate over the platforms, making sure to land safely on each one. At the end of this obstacle course, there will be a Vex cannon. Jump through it and it will send you flying through the air to another platform swarming with Vex. Eliminate the hostiles and jump through the next cannon to land on another platform. Head inside the cave you will see before you.

The Anchor
Once inside, go deeper down into the chasm. Keep in mind that The Anchor will be a Restricted Zone. There, you will have to traverse some more floating platforms. Watch your step, since falling off a platform means certain death.

The platforms will be swarming with Vex forces. Look out for Hobgoblin snipers on the far end of this area, as well as some Goblins, Fanatics, and Hydras blocking the exit. On the right wall, there will be a plinth a bit higher up that could make a good sniper nest.

Once the area is clear, push forward.

Legion Drill Site
You exit the chasm to find a new set of blocks that you need to jump between. You will also encounter some Cabal forces. This area is quite open, so be on the lookout for any snipers. Also, try to clear your next landing spot of enemies before jumping to it.

Navigate those platforms down (dealing with the heavy Cabal resistance on the way) until you reach a circular Vex altar. There will be a handful of Goblins to drop there before you continue. Once they're down, just keep pushing forward towards the mining site. Avoid any fights between Vex and Cabal forces along the way. If you don't get involved in their fight, they will not attack you.

Once you reach the edge of the mining zone, slow down. There will be a couple of sub-bosses to fight, as well as a plethora of other Cabal baddies. Take out any snipers first, then focus on dropping the two sub-bosses one at a time. Have one player cover the group from lesser infantry units, while the other two target the sub-boss. It will fall back to its little structure, but you can toss a few grenades in there for good measure and fire through any openings you see.

Once the two drill officers are dead, head over to the nearby Cabal catapult. You will be using that to board the mining drill. Have one teammate activate a catapult, while the other two deal with any remaining Cabal forces. Then, jump through the catapult. Remember to check its color. If it's not glowing orange, it will not have the power to propel you far enough and you will fall to your death instead.

Try to have your entire team land on the drill at approximately the same time, because the moment the first Guardian touches down, they will be attacked by Phalanxes and Legionaries. Try lobbing a grenade in the center of the group the moment they appear for maximum damage. Save your Supers for the battle to come, though.

The moment you drop down to the command center, have a teammate complete the objective. Then, focus on staying alive and eliminating all enemies that will come to stop you. You will be attacked by waves of Vex, including Minotaurs and at least one Hydra. Stick to cover, use all your offensive abilities, and make sure you stay alive. You don't have to kill all enemies in the area to advance, so when the catapult is in place, you're free to leave.

Once you land, be ready to tackle some Vex and Cabal enemies. Make sure you kill everything in sight and eliminate any snipers that might be lurking nearby before you proceed. Then, jump down to the lower platform and use it to jump to the opposite side. You will be met by some more enemies, but the battle should be fairly straightforward, since there is plenty of cover you can use.

Keep moving and you will reach the massive drill. You will have to drop down to its rotating arms, but make sure they don't touch you or you will die. There are three safe paths you can use down there and they're marked by a dirt path, while the unsafe levels, where the arms can reach you, will feature a plain rocky floor. Once between the arms, move counter-clockwise and eliminate all enemies on the way. Make the snipers a priority target and do not jump. Jumping will put you into the reach of the drill arm above you.

If you're looking for a faster way across, you will have to do some pretty well-timed jumps around and over the drill arms, while ignoring all hostiles on the way, but this is not recommended.

Rendezvous with your teammates in the entry corridor of the Inverted Spire.

The Inverted Spire
Make a controlled descent through the conduit and engage the group of Harpies that will be waiting for you. Mind the gap in the floor. Before you kill the last one, take cover and assume a defensive formation. Killing the last Harpy will spawn Protheon, Modular Mind.

When fighting Protheon, make sure to stick to cover and be quick on your feed. He will move around himself, so always be mindful of his position and find suitable cover. Designate one player to take care of the Harpies that will appear during the battle, while the other two focus their fire on Protheon's head.

Once a third of his health is gone, Protheon will assume a new strategy and teleport the floor away, dropping your fireteam to a lower platform. Make sure to jump right before landing to avoid fall damage.

During this stage of the fight, there will be moments in which the floor will be unsafe. There are several low circular pillars that you can use when this happens. However, they will offer you no cover. Alternatively, you can time your jumps and be caught mid-air when the floor is not safe, but this requires some more practice. Keep firing at Protheon's head.

Once another third of Protheon's health is gone, the floor will vanish again. There will be some Goblins to deal with and you want to do it fast before the boss has reappeared on this level. He will spawn in the lake just off the platform. That lake will be deadly for you, though, so stick to the relatively safe floor and keep shooting at the Modular Mind's head.

Once there are about 50% of the last third of his health left, his head will explode and you will have to aim for the new opening on his torso. Also, he will go berserk and summon a horde of reinforcements. Deal with any Fanatics that spawn first, then wipe out the rest of the lesser foes before focusing on the boss again. If all goes well, shooting at Protheon's torso should bring him down quite quickly.
__TOC__
Overview
Savathun's Song is a Strike that takes place on Titan. Players must locate a fireteam of Guardians who went missing while exploring the New Pacific Arcology.
* This Strike can be accessed from the Director by selecting the Vanguard Strikes node after all three members of the Vanguard have returned to The Farm.

Enemies Encountered
* Hive
** Acolyte
** Wizard
** Thrall
** Cursed Thrall
** Knight
** Shrieker

Boss
Players will face several sub-bosses before the final boss. These include:
* Ogre
* Shrieker

Mechanics
Walkthrough
Solarium
Once the Strike starts, cross the bridge and head for the broken LED wall. Deal with the Acolytes guarding it and go through the narrow opening. Once inside the Solarium, take a left and take on the group of Acolytes and the Wizard that will cross your path. Watch out for some traps on the ground that can damage you and slow you down.

Let Ghost hack the door and immediately turn around to deal with a wave of Thralls and a Wizard. Prioritize clearing the Thralls or you might be swarmed before you know it. In the next wave, some Acolytes will arrive alongside a group of Cursed Thralls. Shoot the Cursed Thralls first to explode them in clusters before they reach your position, then turn to the Acolytes. With them gone, a couple of Knights will attack you. If you absolutely have to, use some grenades and offensive abilities to drop them, but try to save those if you can.

The moment the door opens, back up and deal with the charging Thralls. Do not use your grenades here, as you will need all the firepower you posses in just a minute.

Moving forward and through the second inner door, you will come across an Ogre sub-boss, accompanied by some Knights and Acolytes. Back up and take cover the moment you see this group. This is what you have been saving your offensive abilities for, so let them loose now. Grenades are highly encouraged, as well as a Super from one of your teammates (preferably a ranged one). Clear the entire area however you see fit and head deeper into the Arboretum.

Arboretum
Dodge the Hive traps and take out whatever Acolytes you come across, as you make your way towards the main hall. There, take a left and have two teammates deal with the Wizard and Acolytes in the area. The group's tank must immediately head up the steps, grab a Void charge, and push forward just below the floating Shrieker ahead. The designated Void charge carrier must dodge the Shrieker fire and deposit the charge in the marked receptacle. This will open the way forward and dismiss the Shrieker.

Drop down the now-open path and scan the object in the middle of the Hive nest. To proceed, you need to find more similar crystals in an adjacent cave and destroy them. Once this is done, head deeper into the Arboretum. Keep in mind that some variations have you explore some more of the Arboretum before having you destroy crystals.

Once you've dropped down, deal with the toughened Knight and his Acolytes that will meet you there. Then, destroy the six crystals in the nearby Hive cave to open the way forward.

Moving on, you will come across a huge Ogre sub-boss. It will be accompanied by some Knights, Acolytes, Wizards, and a second Ogre in the upper mezzanine. Also, look out for traps on the ground. Do not rush this encounter. Instead, stay back and slowly make your way forward, dealing with threats in as small groups as possible.

A variation of this Strike will have you disrupt a Hive ritual instead of dealing with two Ogres. Employ the same strategy and do not charge into the fight.

Moving on, reach the next cave with glowing crystals to destroy. Deal with the enemies in your immediate surroundings, then blast the crystals and move on. In the upper mezzanine, you will have to disrupt a Hive ritual (or battle a couple more Ogres in some variations). Use the same strategy as before - stay back, take it slow, and stick to cover. Press on through the Acolytes and Knights to reach a couple of Void Wizards. Have one teammate blast them to bits, while the other two provide covering fire and deal with the additional cannon fodder.

This is where things start to get hectic. At this point, you will be presented with a wide array of threats, including Knights, Acolytes, and an Ogre. You will also have to grab a Void charge and drop it in an area guarded by not one but two Shriekers. Work as a team and have one of you grab the charge. Then, move together so the remaining two members of the fireteam can provide covering fire and draw the bulk of the enemy's attention onto themselves. This will give the carrier a chance to move forward and deposit the Void charge in its dedicated slot.

The two that cover the carrier are advised to use their Supers. One should use it when the fireteam encounters the Ogre and the other should employ it to take out the two Shriekers.

Once this suicidal mission is completed (hopefully with everyone still in one piece), head back to where you dropped in from. Deal with the two Wizards waiting for you there and the way onward will be clear. You can now drop down to the Chasm of Screams.

Chasm of Screams
Once you're down in the Chasm of Screams, take it slow. First, you will have an ungodly amount of Cursed Thralls coming your way and you don't want to run into them up close. And second, you want all of your abilities to recharge before the final boss fight. Cautiously make your way through the tunnels, while watching out for groups of Cursed Thralls. Make sure to drop those from a safe distance, because in such tight spaces, when one explodes, it will probably trigger a chain reaction and destroy the rest.

Once you enter the main chamber, stop and look around. On the far side of the room, there is a drop to a bottomless abyss, so mind that gap. On the western side, there will be a large crystal, as well as some entry points for additional enemies to come out of.

Spread out, so you are not clustered together and position yourselves with a good view towards the large crystal. Have one teammate smash it open and behold the final boss - a massive Shrieker known as the Dark Heart.

At this point, it is usually a good idea to distribute the workload.
* Have one hard-hitting teammate focus on the boss and only engage other enemies when they are an active threat to their position or the Dark Heart becomes invulnerable. They should constantly aim at the Shrieker's central core.
* The second teammate should focus solely on the lesser enemies and ignore the Dark Heart. It would be beneficial if they know how to communicate enemy positions effectively and they know what to expect during each enemy wave.
* The third member of your fireteam should alternate between doing damage to the Dark Heart and providing covering fire for the main damage dealer. Make sure they understand that their role is to shoot enemies down, not call their positions. Have only one person give the live commentary on enemy assaults to avoid confusion.

Keep damaging the Dark Heart until a third of its health is gone. At that point, it will close up and retreat to the edge of the chamber. You will also be swarmed by some additional Hive infantry. While the Shrieker is closed, all three fireteam members should focus on the cannon fodder. This is a good time to also restock on ammo, but make sure to save your Super abilities.

Once the Dark Heart opens its eye again, it will teleport to the far end of its balcony. Employ the same strategy as before and make sure everyone knows their roles. The main damage dealer will rely heavily on covering fire, due to the near-constant stream of Acolytes that will swarm the area.

When two or three Ogres arrive, let your Supers loose and deal with them before refocusing on the Dark Heart.

When the boss loses another third of its health, it will teleport to the top of the nearby floating platform. At the same time, up to three Void Wizards will spawn in. Have two teammates focus on the Wizards, while the third (usually the one that can shrug off the most damage) grabs a Void charge and rushes in to deposit it in the marked location. This is a top priority, because the Dark Heart will be invulnerable until the charge is deposited, so it must be completed at any cost.

Once the charge is deposited, assume your default roles, deal with the remaining Wizards, and watch out for Cursed Thralls while you chip away at the Dark Heart's health. Lowering the boss Shrieker's health to zero completes this Strike.
__TOC__
Overview
The Arms Dealer is a Strike taking place in EDZ. Players are tasked with hunting down Primus Zahn, a Cabal leader, through a Cabal-controlled sector.
* This Strike can be accessed from the Director by selecting the Vanguard Strikes node after all three members of the Vanguard have returned to The Farm.
* A variation of this strike also includes a Fallen incursion that players will have to deal with.

Enemies Encountered
* Fallen
** Captain
** Vandal
** Wretch
** Servitor
** Shank

* Cabal
** Legionary
** Phalanx
** Psion
** Centurion
** War Beast
** Thresher
** Goliath
** Incendior
** War Hound
** Basilisk Flamethrower

Boss
Players will face several sub-bosses before the final boss. These include:
* Bracus Nor (Legionary)
* Bracus Vox (Legionary)
* Zahn's Lieutenant (Legionary)
* Bracus Crull (Legionary)
* Bracus Vox (Legionary)

The final boss of this encounter is a significantly tougher Legionary named Primus Zahn.

Mechanics
* Phase 1: Zahn will mostly use his sniper rifle and move around the battlefield. Aim for his head and dodge any sniper shots.
* Phase 2: Zahn will employ the same strategy as in Phase 1. You should do the same.
* Phase 3: Zahn will switch to a shotgun with bouncy projectiles. Try to keep a safe distance and time your jumps precisely, so you can both dodge his attacks and gain a height advantage.

Walkthrough
Legion's Anchor
Once the Strike starts, make your way through the corridor before you. If this is a variation of the Strike, expect some Fallen in this area. Otherwise, fight your way through the Cabal you will find there.

Make sure to employ the yellow explosive canisters to quickly secure the area, then access the marked terminal to open the door towards the south cargo docks.

On the other side of the doorway, a dropship will deploy some Cabal forces. If this is a variation, a battle between them and the Fallen will begin. The Cabal are led by the first sub-boss of the Strike - Bracus Nor. Make him a priority target and just shoot him in the head until he falls. Then, mop up the cannon fodder.

As soon as the objective asks that you cause an explosion, have a teammate grab a fusion ball from the marked area, then rush forward. Make sure the two remaining members of the fireteam provide covering fire for the ball carrier, as they push forward as quickly as possible and drop the fusion ball at the marked location.

As you make your way forward, the second sub-boss, Bracus Vox, will be waiting for you, as well as a significant Cabal force. If possible, ignore them until the fusion ball is deposited, then engage the enemies and wipe them out.

At this point, expect to be attacked by a Cabal Thresher, as well as Zahn's Lieutenant from the northern ramp. If this is a variation, Fallen Servitors will also join the fray. Deal with each threat as it presents itself, but focus on the Legionary sub-boss and the Cabal attack ship first. Then, clear the area of any lesser foes.

Once done, head for the windowed corridor and into the next loading bay. You will have the high ground as you enter, so stick to it and clear the area from a distance. Employ the yellow explosive canisters when you see enemies around them. Then, move towards Sunken Isles.

Sunken Isles
Once inside the next area, you want to fight your way out of the cargo bay and up to the carrier ramp. If you are lucky, Hawthorne might have dropped a Drake tank for you to use. If not, you will have to fight the significant Cabal force, including the sub-boss Bracus Crull, guarding the area on foot.

If you are in a tank, head up the ramp, blasting whatever enemies you see, and head into the carrier ship. As you make your way there, cover your fireteam from Threshers, as they use the tank as cover and stay back before using their Sparrows to catch up with you. If available, the Drake should be used to do the heavy lifting.

If no tank is available, methodically chip away at the Threshers' health by sticking to cover. While doing so, watch your sides for any cannon fodder that might try to flank you. If you are on foot, however, do not split up while proceeding forward.

The ultimate goal for this area is to reach its end together and be safe from any enemies.

Legion's Hold
Moving forward and into Legion's Hold, you will have a significant threat to deal with - a Goliath tank. If you have a tank of your own, it will be far easier to take this foe down. If not, however, you will have a tough fight on your hands. Deal with the tank however you see fit and take out the regular infantry around you while looking for the bridge controls.

Once the large platform descends, it will come down carrying one more Goliath, as well as the Bracus Vox sub-boss. If you have a Drake, focus its firepower on the Goliath and the sub-boss. If not, stick to cover, stay mobile and pepper them both with your Kinetics until the way is clear. Consider using grenade and rocket launchers against the tank. If a pack of War Beasts spawns with Vox, deal with them first. This way, they will not be able to compromise your position and flush you out of cover.

You might want to use a Super on the last bits of the Goliath's health. That way, the Super can be used to destroy the Goliath and inflict some serious damage on Bracus Vox if it is timed well.

Echion Vae
Head up the ramp after you clear the previous area and you will arrive at Echion Vae. Once there, make your way through the hangar and a couple of platform bridges. Look out for the Basilisk Flamethrowers and take them out first before you deal with other foes. Note that the Fallen might join the battle, dropping Vandals and Servitors. Don't rush it and fight your way forward, methodically eliminating everything in the way.

At this point, try to save your abilities for the final battle.

As Primus Zahn makes an appearance, he will arrive with a couple of Centurions. Take them out first. If the entire fireteam focuses their fire at one Centurion at a time, both of them will fall in a matter of seconds. Then, Zahn will retreat and you will have to fight your way to a cargo elevator and up from it.

If you find clearing this hangar tough, split up and attack from several angles. This way, one of your teammates will soak up the majority of the damage (preferably a Titan tank), while the rest distribute the hurt between enemies.

Once all three of you board the elevator, Primus Zahn will stand on the edge and take potshots at you with his sniper rifle. Immediately take cover and do not bother shooting back. Instead, the moment the elevator reaches its destination, scatter and immediately locate and eliminate the Basilisk Flamethrowers. Then, focus all firepower available on Zahn's head to quickly bring a third of his health down.

With two-thirds of his health left, Zahn will retreat behind an impenetrable shield. Deal with the regular Cabal that will assault your position and as soon as a fusion core presents itself, grab it and deposit it at the marked location to lower Zahn's defensive barrier.

He will fly down and summon some more flamethrowers, as well as a significant pack of War Beasts. Try to ignore those unless they're causing you problems and focus on shooting Zahn in the head. Have your toughest Guardian draw his fire, because his sniper rifle is brutal and you don't want it to hit a weaker player. At this point, you would do well to unleash a Super on Zahn's head. Once another third of his health is gone, the boss will retreat to another platform. As soon as he does so, retreat as far as possible from him, so you can avoid the sniper rifle.

During the third stage of this battle, Zahn will ditch the long-range weapon and opt for a much deadlier shotgun instead. You are not safe on the ground anymore, as his projectiles will bounce and they deal significant damage. Employ whatever cover you can find and use some precise jumping maneuvers to dodge his attacks and gain a height advantage on him.

Use every last offensive ability you might have available to bring him down as fast as possible. Once Zahn dies, the cannon fodder will disappear and the Strike will be completed. Go to the nearby chest and collect your reward.
